Philip Simmons High School is a new educational facility designed to accommodate Berkeley County's growing population. The 219,000-square-foot school, situated on a 107-acre property in the Cainhoy/Daniel Island area, opened in 2017. The school serves 1,200 students, with future expansion capabilities to accommodate up to 1,500 students. The facility is organized into five Academic Academies: 9th Grade, Arts & Humanity, Business & Hospitality, STEM, and Health Science.

Landmark played a key role in the development of Philip Simmons High School. The scope of work included clearing and grubbing the site, implementing erosion control measures, and establishing grassing to ensure environmental stability. Extensive earthwork was conducted to prepare the site, including building pad construction to create a solid foundation for the school structure.

In addition to earthwork, Landmark installed comprehensive storm drainage systems to manage runoff and prevent flooding. Sanitary sewer systems were also installed to ensure proper waste management for the new facility. The water distribution system was meticulously set up to provide reliable and efficient water supply throughout the school.

The construction process also involved the creation of roadways and parking lots to support the daily operations and transportation needs of the school. This included laying asphalt, installing curbs and gutters, and ensuring that all pathways met safety and accessibility standards.

Through meticulous planning and execution, Landmark contributed to the successful completion of Philip Simmons High School, providing a modern, state-of-the-art educational environment for the students and staff of Berkeley County.
